In 1985, with only $500 in his pocket, pro windsurfer Ralph Sifford rented a 400 square foot retail space and opened the doors to Second Wind Sail & Surf. Bringing in merchandise on a consignment basis, Ralph’s passion for the sport fueled his desire to make windsurfing and surfing an affordable activity for the growing audience of water sports enthusiasts living on or visiting Maui annually.

Today, under the new ownership of Kevin Ozee along with a hand-picked team of experts and enthusiasts on staff, Second Wind is growing into a 3,500 square foot water sports toy store. While the store itself may have changed, the spirit of Second Wind remains the same: we carry what we feel is only the best in surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, and stand-up paddling gear and water sports apparel.

With a renewed vision for our future as well as the introduction of our Elua Makani (Hawaiian for “Second Wind”) in-house brand of products, we’re proud to provide our customers with the best in quality, selection, performance, and value.
