HST is Maui's finest windsurfing school. Quality instruction is taught by skilled sailors who communicate the latest teaching methods to you. Alan Cadiz, an accomplished World Cup Pro, founded Maui's premier Windsurfing school in 1985, filling the need for performance lessons on the Valley Isle. Using his knowledge and expertise, Alan has brought windsurfing instruction to a whole new level.
Alan and his staff set high standards of quality that other schools have yet to match. Whether you're learning to water start, use your footstraps, or sail your board upwind, the instructor stays right there with you in the water. This provides you with greater confidence, comfort, and immediate feedback for fast learning. And it ensures a safe, quality windsurfing experience.
Most lessons are held at Kahana Beach Park, which is a beautiful spot for windsurfing and picknicking. It is a half mile stretch of sand, broken only by two jetties defining the protected swim area. A full team of lifegaurds are on duty in the swim area. The park has showers, washrooms, and tons of parking. The sailing at Kahana is great, with  typical light wind in the morning hours ( which is why entry level class starts at 9 am), and at noon the wind is strong enough for short board sailing.

Action Sports Surf School is a full service surfing School with all levels of lesson and adventure. We teach the sport of surfing and impart to each student a sense of respect for the ocean. Each lesson is designed to equip the student with the knowledge and skills that they will need to enter the ocean responsibly and safely at their particular level. We are the only surfing school on Maui's north shore so we search the whole Island to get a variety of waves to ride from very easy to extra challenging.
